Welcome to the PTFA,
The main function of our PTFA is to support the school by raising as much money as we can to enhance, enrich and improve learning experiences for the children. We also provide those ‘little extras’ that make school memorable, such as discos, pancake challenges and gift bags for our year 6 children when they leave us. Often, these are things that the normal school budget just won’t stretch to. Sometimes we hold free events to say thank you for supporting us.
We also exist to bring the communities of school and home closer together because it makes sense for parents to be involved in the life of their chosen school.
The PTFA send out regular updates via the school newsletter to let you know what we are doing and what future events we have in store. We also have an active Facebook page which you can join. Meeting minutes can be found below.
How can you get involved?
All parents are automatically members of the PTFA and our fundraising relies on parental support so we encourage you all to become involved, support and have fun in helping us to raise money. We welcome any new ideas for fundraising activities. Please do speak with a member of the committee. The more people who get involved, the more we can achieve.
Even if you have younger children at home, or only a small amount of time, could you come to a meeting, help set up an event, serve food or design a poster? Perhaps you have a professional skill you could help us out with? You don’t even have to come into the school; many of our volunteering tasks can be done from home.

Notes from the PTFA…
First of all we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Howard Hughes who raised a great sum of money for the PTFA by shaving off his 100 day old beard! £1,209.75 to be exact! He is a natural born star and captivated his audience with his live shave!
The PTFA now have their own Just Giving page which makes online fundraising simple. It also means that if anyone wishes to raise funds on our behalf they can do this simply by setting up their own page and linking it to ours. So, if you, or anyone you know, wishes to take on a challenge please do get in touch!
Our Tipton St John Primary School Cookery Book
We have received some delicious recipes so far but we would love to receive more so we can create a jam-packed cookery book at the end of the year! Please send recipes through email@example.com. They can by typed or written and need to include a photo of the finished dish and the chefs name please.
The PTFA needs a logo!
We need your help to create a logo for the PTFA to use on our advertising and fundraising pages. Can you help? If your child would like to create a design for us please do send it firstname.lastname@example.org or hand the design into the school office or a member of the PTFA.
Please visit our Facebook page if you are looking for pre-loved uniform (or if you have uniform you wish to donate) or contact Gemma Richards. All items are available for a minimum donation of £1.
We are still looking for a Secretary, if you fancy taking the role on please do get in touch. Main purpose of the role is to ensure the PTFA runs smoothly and efficiently through the preparation and organization of the committee’s paperwork and communications. Help prepare and run meetings, circulate agendas and reports, take minutes and distribute.
