Devon Information Advice and Support (DIAS) for SEND

DIAS provides you with easily accessible information around all aspects of education, health and social care to help you make informed decisions. It also provides information on the Devon Assessment Framework process which supports SEND pupils in Devon and can be led by the school.

The Devon Assessment Framework is a single assessment and planning framework to support children and young people with additional needs. It describes how services should work together to assess and support your child and includes a suite of paperwork often known as a DAF.

You or your child or young person can request a DAF by talking to your school or another professional you are working with. Your views, wishes and feelings will be an important part of what is discussed.  You can expect to be asked to a Team Around the Child (TAC) meeting.

Following such an assessment, your child’s needs, agreed outcomes and support can be set out in a non-statutory My Plan. If your child has more complex education needs they may need a statutory assessment and a statutory EHC plan.
